Service used Heer assault gun wrap for a Heer Sturmartillerie Unteroffizier, constructed of mid war quality field grey wool and having lining components, internal pockets, tie tape tunnels and buttoning tabs of light grey colored rayon, the belt hook support straps are of webbing, the tie tapes are made of white cotton and the left position is still tied, in bright light the faint size block may be perceived with the F43 depot marking readable, lining is faded and yellowed from much wear, the right internal lower pocket seam is partially undone and there is a hole to the pocket's upper portion, the large front closure buttons are horn and originally sewn, one of them is cracked, the smaller lapel and cuff buttons are also of horn, each cuff has one button of civilian origin, the collar patches' bodies are made of black wool, each has hochrot colored rayon piping, the Totenkopfen are silvered zinc of the type with three triangular edge prongs each, the collar patches are machine applied, the matched pair of slip on shoulder straps are constructed of a slightly earlier vintage wool, these also have rayon piping, their metallic NCO Tresse is machine applied, the straps are anchored by field grey painted pebbled steel buttons and these too are originally sewn, the appropriate subdued woven national emblem is a zig zag machine applied replacement and this is a good match and is well done, an EKII ribbon is attached to the top lapel buttonhole and this appears to be a postwar addition, the wrap's exposed surfaces show greater nap wear but there are no holes or repairs to the body, the threads used in construction have lost much of their original coloring, appealing example as would have been worn by the crews of self-propelled artillery like the Hummel, USD $4500
