Very well marked nice example of a Wehrmacht hatchet. In good condition with a nice handle. The metal has also held up quite well and it clearly hasn't been abused. I would not use this, but it seems like it would be in good enough condition to be used; it would just be a shame to risk damaging it, as these are quite hard to come across and much harder in good condition like this one. I have been looking for these all around Germany for over a decade and this is the best one I have found and maybe only the third or forth one I have come across. It looks like it was probably cleaned up a bit as some point but nothing too terrible. Some light rust on the axe.I would prefer not to ship this internationally as I don't want customs to seize it as a 'weapon'.
