Women's Civil Defense Uniform Jacket & Skirt(B-36' W-26' H-35')

Vintage WWII women's Civil Defense uniform jacket and skirt.MEASUREMENTS (approximate):JACKET:Bust- 36'Waist- 29 1/2'Length- 24'Sleeve(shoulder seam to end of cuff) - 23'SKIRT:Waist- 26'Hips- 35'Length- 26 1/2'Gray-slate blue uniform. Small CD patches on the collar and the U.S. Citizens Service Corps patch on the sleeve. Some wear on the felt triangle on the sleeve patch.The uniform is in fair condition and has some staining. I have not tried to clean this as I do not know the material content, so I am unsure if the staining will come out. The staining is much more pronounced on the skirt, but the brown storage wear like stains are throughout both pieces.This is a rare uniform to find. In fact, it is the only one I have ever seen (besides in photos) in all of my years of collecting.To volunteer to work for Civil Defense, women had to be between the ages of 18 and 50, attend a 24 hour first aid course, have the equivalent of a high school education and serve without pay.
