Korean War USMC Lieutenant Uniform Grouping-This grouping was the property of Lt. (at the time) Herbert R. Oxnam Jr. He joined the Corps at age 18 and served active and reserves for 43 years, retiring as a colonel. There is a full bio as well as a hand typed timeline by the veteran recalling his time in the service and specifically Korea where he was wounded, receiving a Purple Heart as well as a Bronze Star. He also received the Navy Commendation Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Service with two stars, Reserve Service ribbon and Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. Wow. This grouping is his dress uniform during his time on active duty in Korea. It is in very good condition and includes the tunic, trousers and a side cap. His pistol expert and sharpshooter medals are included as are ribbons for the medals that are mentioned. The tunic is tailor made and named to him. It is dated 1951. The trousers have his name ink stamped onto it. The side cap has an lt bar and an extra one is included in the pocket. This is a great grouping and will make for a very fun research project!
