WW1 Womens Land Army Good Service ribbon award cloth badge

A scarce original First World War period 'Women's Land Army Good Service Ribbon award badge' presented by the 'LAAS' (Land Army Agricultural Section); woven green silk cotton shield, Crown surmounting the letters 'WLA GS LAAS' in yellow and red embroidered thread, folded and stitched with fawn cotton cloth herringbone lining. Good condition, colours remain bright, minor service wear.Height approx 63mm.In the December 1918 issue of the 'Landswoman' it states that it is the new Good Service Ribbon which will be presented to any of you who have been six months in the Land Army, and who have kept up a high standard of work and conduct.It is to be worn on the left arm, well above the armlet.
