Hard-Used DAK / Southern Front Heer Helmet

This Tan Camo M40 DAK helmet is an NS66, #DN46. The helmet shows a full tan camo finish atop the issue M40 finish. A single Heer decal is visible under the camo at about 80% present. The camo finish shows heavy sun baking and general weathering, with patina. There is an area of patina at the top that has caused a slight rose color to the tan. It is unknown what caused the patina, but sitting on its top in some kind of vehicle fuel leak is possible. The liner and chinstrap are fully intact, with some heat and sweat wear present. The helmet is a striking, complete and untouched example of a DAK– and depending on where captured– a 'Southern Front' example. An outstanding battle helmet, COA accompanies.
