1939-45 Star, Burma Star, Defence Medal, 1939-45 War Medal, GVIR 1st type efficiency medal with Territorial suspender To-2080860.FSR.G.W.VINE.R.FGeorge William Vine from Surbition, Surrey served in Burma with 569 battery, 26 Searchlight regiment, Royal Artillery & was wounded in Burma 19-2-1944. This was reported in the war office casualty list dated 1-3-1944. He went on to serve with the Royal Fusiliers & was awarded the efficiency medal in army order 69 of 1946. He applied for the issue of his campaign medals in 1948 whilst living at 2 North Road, Surbiton, Surrey & stated that he had last served with the 2nd battalion of the Buffs.GVF & swing mounted as worn with both the Defence & war medals being mounted with the reverse showing as opposed to the obverse.
