A truly mint WW1 Bronze memorial plaque in its original box of issue. Complete with inner envelope & Buckingham palace letter of condolenceTo- JOHN.HENRY.DIVES.COSTEKERThe recipient was educated at Harrow school & went on to be commissioned in to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. He served in the Boer war & was awarded both the D.S.O & a five clasp Queen's South Africa medal. He killed in action during the landings on V beach Gallipoli 25-4-1915 whilst serving as a brigade major with the 88th infantry brigade as part of the 29th division. He was 36 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in V beach cemetery on Gallipoli.
