You are bidding on a SUPERB example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht M31 Trinkbecher für Feldflasche (Canteen Cup)!Introduced in 1931 the standard issue M31canteen was based on the WWI era M1893 and M1907 canteens with minor modifications. Originally the canteens were equipped with an aluminum cup but as the aluminum was required for more critically important items the cups began to be manufactured in bakelite and eventually in steel.Made of aluminum and steel, this Canteen Cup is in EXCELLENT used condition! It retains approx. 98% of its original finish, with various marks, scratches, dents, and wear throughout. Prominently marked, 'W.A.L. 24'. A VERY NICE early pattern variant, it would make a VERY NICE addition to any collection or display!
