Original era manufacture. A very high quality bronze table medal, honoring the centennial of the Battle of Pichincha, May 22nd 1822. This battle fought on the slopes of  Pichincha volcano, on the outskirts of the city of Quito. Resulted in the defeat of Spanish Royalist forces, and paved the way for the establishment of the republic of Ecuador.The medal measures 80 mm in width, with very detailed imagery. Marked bronze on the edge. Light age and wear. The artists name was L. Casadio.
