This is a truly attractive - and very detailed! - 'high-quality'-produced example of a: 'Freikorps'-related award being a so-called: 'Ehrenzeichen des Schlageter-Gedächtnis Bund e.V.' showing the (scarcely seen!) bars ie. 'Spangen' that are respectively entitled: 'Rhein/Ruhr' and/or: '1923/24' and being an example that is neatly maker-marked on its back with the makers-designation: 'Paul Küst - Abzeichen u. Ordenfabrik - Berlin SW 19' and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used- and/or most certainly worn-), condition. This award - which is of the second form ie. pattern (ie. 'Hochoval'-formed) - is sometimes found amongst German award-groups and was also occasionally worn during the WWII-period (although this was strictly forbidden!). This is a very detailed - and most certainly 'high-quality'-produced, 'Buntmetall'-based specimen that is neatly maker-marked as stated above an that also bears a 'Ges.Gesch.' patent-pending mark (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece - which is of the type having the attached swords - was never cleaned and shows some normal wear and/or age: it is somewhat tarnished and/or minimally dirty. These awards could accomodate various tiny 'bars' (or 'Spangen') and this example shows two of those pieces period-attached (ie. being the actually scarcely seen: 'Rhein/Ruhr' and/or: '1923/24'-bars (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece comes of course mounted onto its functional- (and/or non-altered) pin- ie. catch set-up. The overall detail on this 'Freikorps'-related aweard is very nice and pronounced: the silver-finish shows some minimal wear and/or age as stated above: this is simply caused by normal usage. Simply a very attractive - and actually not that often encountered! - 'Freikorps'-related award that is most certainly accordingly priced!
