Here on offer is a WW2 German Kriegsmarine Minesweeper badge. This badge is a mid to late war zinc alloy example that has now lost nearly all of its original finish. All that remains is some tiny areas of silver finish in the recesses of the exploding sea mine. The badge retains a lot of its original fine detailing and features a design of oak leaves surrounding a detonated sea mine with the National Eagle of Germany at the top.It retains a long steel fastening pin and brass 'C' clasp on the reverse. There is no maker mark on this badge but I believe this is the type that some collectors have attributed to the 'Steinhauer and Luck' firm, although this is only going by the type of hinge. The badge has lost its original finish but is still solid with no cracks, just some small pit marks to the alloy on the reverse. It measures 2.2' (5.5cm) by 1.8' (4.5cm) and weighs 29g.Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description. Please see my TERMS OF BUSINESS regarding Deliver Charges and Insurance regarding additional insurance cover, should you require it, BEFORE the item is dispatched. The responsibility lies with the customer to check with your Customs restrictions that this item can be imported into your country.
