GERMAN EMPIRE OFFICERS GORGET.

.This is an officer's gorget for the Prussian Garde du Corps or imperial bodyguard of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The gorget is a copper silver plated regimental badge, with a central enamel cartouche, fixed to a brass plate. The cartouche has the cipher FR (Frederick the Great, founder of the Garde du Corps) and the badge carries the cipher WII, regimental symbols, and the dates 1712-1912. Condition is very good apart from considerable wear to the silver plate on the copper.
