The correct pattern should have the words 'Simoor Rifles' on the the circlet, whereas this is mounted on the the universal pattern with decorative ornate scrolls and leaves. However, the the rams head on the disc appears to have been on it some time as the shape it has left on the underlying metal is clearly visible.
