This British Dispatch Rider helmet from 1944 was manufactured by BMB (Briggs Motor Bodies) and was part of the equipment of a Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (RNVR) Sub-Lieutenant.On both sides, yellow unit insignia have been hand-painted using gas detection paint, a special type of paint that changed color when exposed to poisonous gases. The helmet retains its original rough khaki-grey sand texture and shows clear signs of use, characteristic of genuine wartime service. The interior is complete with a leather liner, felt padding, and the typical webbing adjustment cord found on British motor helmets of that period.British wartime helmets featuring decals are generally harder to find!Article number: 16836
