Description

WH (Heer) M43 Cap (Einheitsfeldmütze M43). The M43 field cap was introduced for wear by all ranks on 11 June 1943 as a replacement cap for all other field caps then in use. The design of the M43 field cap was based on the earlier M42 overseas cap (Feldmütze) and the Mountain Trooper's Mountain Cap (Bergmütze) with minor variations. The standard issue M43 field caps were constructed of field-grey wool. This cap is made of captured Italian wool. The cap is having a dark-grey cotton lining material, the cap is nicely marked with a RB.Nr. and size '56', dated 1944. The cap is complete with an original factory machine-sewn BeVo-woven M43-model cap-eagle/cocarde (trapezoid). The cap is in very good condition with normal traces of usage, see photos. The carton inside the visor is broken in the middle due to wear. Nice and nowadays hard to find original WH (Heer) M43 cap!
