Description

Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2e Klasse). On September 1, 1939, Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (first introduced in 1813). The Iron Cross 2nd Class was awarded to individuals who had performed a single act of heroism in combat. The cross has a three-piece construction with an iron core and shows only a slightly darkened patina. The cross comes with its original ribbon as found.
