National Fire Service NFS firemans rare die stamped cap badge

A scarce original post 1941 'National Fire Service cap badge'; die-stamped chromium plated Crowned eight pointed star, with red enamel 'NFS' lettering to the centre. Very good condition, complete with two original loop fittings and split pin, no damage the enamel.Height approx 47mm.In 1941 the 'Auxiliary Fire Service' and the local authority fire brigades were amalgamated to become the 'National Fire Service'.
