BRD : German City of Essen Enamelled Stick-pin Lapel-badge.

The city arms of Essen, the home of the Krupp steel concern. This example is believed to be from the 1960s and is in excellent condition with knurled stick-pin on the reverse. These were presented to official visitors to the city. No makers mark. This same emblem was adopted by the Kriegsmarine submarine U-203 and worn by the crew on their headgear.
