This DDR (East German) paper flag dates from the period of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) and features the well-known black-red-gold tricolor with the state emblem, a hammer and compass surrounded by a wreath of grain.The flag is printed on thin paper and attached to a wooden stick, as was customary during official parades, national holidays, and political demonstrations organized by the Socialist Unity Party (SED).Such small flags were distributed to citizens and schoolchildren to wave during socialist events and processions.This example shows light signs of use, and we have a few pieces in stock, each in similar condition.An interesting and original collectible item for enthusiasts of DDR history or Cold War memorabilia.Article number:16888
