US 19th Century Brass Padlock & Chain

Original era manufacture. A well made, heavy construction all brass padlock, with a great looking U.S. with serifs on its front. There is a partially obscured patent date on the reverse of the hasp, which looks to be 1883.Dark brass patina, the lock measures four inches in length excluding the chain, and is locked.
