Maker marked on the reverse by Q.12 complete with original ribbon.The World War Cross of Honour (often named after its most common award level, the Cross of Honour for Frontline Fighters or Frontline Fighter's Cross of Honour) was established on 13 July 1934 by Reich President Paul von Hindenburg on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the start of the war in 1914 and was an award from the Nazi era for the participants and the surviving dependents of participants in the First World War. After Hindenburg's death on 2 August 1934, the Cross of Honour was awarded 'in the name of the Führer and Reich Chancellor', i.e. Adolf Hitler as head of state.
