Merchant Navy Officers' Blazer-badge.

Gold-and silver wire hand-embroidered officer's cap-badge on black over a scroll bearing the Merchant Navy motto 'Caeli Lux Noster Dux' (Heavenly light, our guide). The badge has a black paper backing and has been worn. Very good condition.
