Japanese WWII 1944 Pattern Officers Sword

Original era manufacture. Later war manufacture, 1944 pattern Army officers sword, of a model once referred to in collecting circlesas 'Navy Landing Force'.The polished steel blade measures 27 inches in length, with decent polish, and no issues beyond normal age and wear. Simple oval iron tsuba, original brown cloth wrapped grip, with blackened metal pommel and grip collar. The scabbard presents an even steel patina, with traces of its original brown paint finish remaining. There are a few dents in its surface along its length, with a blob of what looks to be old epoxy smeared on both sides. The original company grade officers knot is broken, and needs to be repaired, one of the fringed tassles is missing most of the brown, but overall the colors remain strong.
