A rare original First World War period 'Voluntary Aid Detachment MIDDLESEX VAD Nursing Service' large circular embroidered felt cloth badge, worn by a member of the joint War Organisation of the 'British Red Cross Society and Order of St John'. Generally very good condition, complete with black herringbone pattern backing, colour remains bright, edge with nick where it has been removed from uniform.Diameter approx 74mm.
