Description
This is an attractive - clearly used and regrettably single but nevertheless quite scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres) neatly 'cyphered', officers-pattern shoulderboard having the (bright!) red-coloured branchcolour and that has the typical dove-grey-coloured 'underlay' (ie. secondary branchcolour) as was specifically intended for usage by a: 'Hauptmann der Reserve u. Feldingenieur des Heeres' (or: reserve captain and field-engineer) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit I deem moderately used ie. worn- and/or I deem carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The shoulderboard which is approximately 10,3 cms. sized in length and that is piped in the (bright!) red-coloured (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured branchcolour (and having the typical dove-grey-coloured 'underlay' ie. secondary branchcolour) as to be expected shows a neat (bright golden-coloured, 'Buntmetall'-based, larger-sized and unsually KM-type!) so-called: 'cogwheel'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') and two (equally-styled and larger-sized) pips period-attached denoting that the strap was intended for a (reserve) officer who held the rank of a: 'Hauptmann' (ie. captain). All three devices show some regular age and/or minimal tarnish but are both still nicely preserved. The strap never had a tongue attached (it is a typical specimen of the 'sew-in'-type) and does show some minimal age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece was never before in collectors'-hands and was recently found as such. Simply an attractive 'Heeres' officers'-type shoulderstrap that belonged to a: 'Hauptmann der Reserve u. Feldingenieur des Heeres': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
