A attractive - British made - so called Dutch 'Spitfire Fund' pocket badge i.e pin

Sold
€25.00

Description

A superb example of a copper-colored metal pin in the shape of a carved rampant Dutch lion above the motto: 'Je Maintiendrai'. The pin may be related to the 'Spitfire Fund,' the original name of the Prince Bernhard Fund, which was established in London on August 10, 1940, to raise money for the purchase of war material. It ended up in the Netherlands, where it was sometimes worn and displayed under the lapel as a sign of silent resistance against the German occupiers.
