GVR 1st type WW1 Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM), 1914-15 Trio with M.I.D Oakleaves & GVR 1st type Army LS&GCTo- 4796.B.S.MJR/B.QM.SJT.A.J.COWLEY.RFA/RAAlbert.J.Cowley from Glanworth, County Cork first landed in France 25-7-1917 & was awarded the DCM in the London Gazette 1-1-1918 with the citation being published 17-4-1918. He had previously been M.I.D for services in France in the London gazette 18-5-1917.The citation for the award of his DCM statesFor conspicuous gallantry & devotion to duty. During the operations his many acts of gallantry & fearlessness in bringing up ammunition to the guns under dangerous & trying conditions have been particularly noticeable & are quite in keeping with his previous splendid record of consistent good work & steadfast devotion to duty.The group is GVF or better & is swing mounted as worn. Complete with original divisional gallantry card,M.I.D certificate, Warrant officer appointment warrant, 4 x photos of the recipient in uniform including one of him wearing his medals, soldiers small book, 3x discharge & character certificates, ID certificate, Pension letter dated 1926, Copy London gazette details, MIC details & other basic research.
