Description

One of the most truly comprehensive WW1 casualty groups that I have ever had the privilege to own.WW1 Pair & Memorial plaque with the recipients original memorial scroll in its original postal tube with Buckingham palace forwarding letter & condolence / issue slip for the medalsTo- 27333.PTE.W.G.F.CLARKE.L.POOL.RWilfred George Fitch Clark was born in Whitley Bay, Northumberland but both enlisted & lived in Liverpool. He was serving with the 17th service battalion of the Liverpool regiment / Liverpool pals when he was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 3-12-1917. He has no known grave & as such he is commemorated on the Tyne Cot memorial. The archive of original documents, photographs, letters & postcards fills a small suitcase & includes eight booklets of letters that have been hand transcribed by the recipients brother who was a catholic priest. Along with most of the original letters, assorted images & pictures including some very good postcard photographic images of the recipient in uniform wearing the Liverpool pals cap badge & a good selection of other related documents & letters. I can not emphasize to strongly just how superb this lot is.EF/MINT & the postal price reflects the size & weight of this item & in truth i would be happy for the buyer to collect it from me in the shop or at a fair.
