WW1 1914-15 TrioTo- S/16674.PTE.J.DOUGLAS.CAM.HIGHRSJames Douglas was both born & enlisted in Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire & enlisted in Dumfries. He first landed in France 13-4-1915 & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 23-4-1915 just ten days after arriving in France. He is was serving with the 2nd battalion of the Cameron Highlanders at the time of his death & is buried in Larch Wood (Railway cutting) cemetery. He was 19 years of age at the time of his death & is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of Thomas & Janet Ann Douglas of 14 castle street, Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire.NEF/GVF & Complete with MIC details. Along with details from both SDGW & the CWGC.
