SS Leicestershire Bibby Line house flag belt buckle 1941 sunk by German Raider Atlantis

A rare original circa 1909 to 1941 early Edwardian period 'S.S.Leicestershire souvenir buckle'; gilt metal ornate four lobed convex oval, inlaid with blue enamel with star decoration to each quarter; the voided centre mounted with an original Bibby Line plain red house flag badge, bearing the diagonal ships name, the family crest a yellow hand holding a dagger was added in 1926 to avoid association with the Bolshevik red flag. Very good condition, complete with original loop fittings, no stress lines or enamel loss, gilt finish remains bright and mounted on its original retailers card.Height approx 56mm.
