18th Century European Small Sword

The sword has an overall length of approximately 38-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 32 inches. The blade retains gilt embellishment on both sides of the ricasso. The blade surfaces have decorative indentations in the upper third of each side. The blade is dark in appearance and it is without nicks or chips. The brass guard, knuckle bow, and pommel all exhibit an uncleaned patina. The grip remains tightly wrapped with twisted wire.
