British Victorian Rifle Regiment Tunic

The tunic is constructed of black wool with black velvet trim on the collar and on the cuffs. There are sections on the front closure edge where the cord trim has become loose through loss of stitching, although the cord remains in place. Four of the five black fabric toggle closures are missing. On the rear of the jacket, one of the two fabric roundels is missing from the center lower back. The edges of the velvet cuffs show wear to the velvet, as does the velvet collar. The interior is padded and fully lined, with the lining showing evidence of wear. On the interior collar is sewn a white label bearing the handwritten notation 'No. 5'.
