British Navy Pattern 1804 Napoleonic Wars 'Figure 8' Boarding Cutlass

The boarding cutlass has an overall length of approximately 33 inches. The blade has a generally dark cast, with pitting that reflects the exposure to the salt air, and old edge nicks which demonstrate that the cutlass saw use for its intended purpose in the period. The guard has an even dark painted finish as well. The serrated cast iron grip reflects age and use. Overall an impressive and historic sword which shows tremendous character.
