French WWI Captains Kepi, 81st Regiment

Original era manufacture. Nice quality hat with a dark black wool covered body, red wool crown,with three rows of gold wire rank trim and a thin gold wire brocade chinstrap. Bursting bomb pattern side buttons, with an embroidered number 81 on the front. Black silk lining with a faint makers mark in the crown. Mothing to the top of the hat near the center of the quatrefoil and one edge. Sound hat showing wear and use.
