Early WWII Copper Handled Type 95 NCO Sword by Tokyo Arsenal with Matching Numbers

Description

The uncommon copper handled sword has an overall length of the scabbard of approximately 37-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 26 inches. The blade shows spots, surface grime, some minor pitting and wear to the finish, but the blade is without nicks, chips or active rust. The blade is numbered '5118', next to which is the inspector mark of the Tokyo arsenal. The fuchi collar has the mark of the Suya sword company as well as the Tokyo arsenal inspector mark as well as the mark of the Kokura arsenal inspection mark. The sword has a pierced guard tsuba. The guard, fuchi collar and the grip all exhibit uncleaned patina. The scabbard has wear to the paint. The scabbard throat bears the matching number of '5118'. Overall the sword is in very good field used condition.
