Description
Untouched and straight out of the woodwork M35 pattern steel helmet. The helmet started the war as an apple green helmet, but was given a total rebuilt at the factory in ca. 1943, often referred to as a 'factory reissued helmet'. These were actually helmets, most likely left on the battle field on death soldiers and went back into the circuit for new recruits. The helmet has a typical reissue army decal by Methner and Burger (Grey lined eagle), and is still present for over 85%. The liner shows matching wear with the rest of the helmet and is original installed. The leather feels stiff on some spots and has a tear in the front. The draw string remains present. The chin strap is also partially present but is broken. Due the thick sand mixed 'reissued' paint, the shell markings remain hidden and are not visible anymore. Helmet is named in the rear, which is always a nice extra. Size is a 64 with 56 liner (I deem). A great been there helmet!
