Cased WWII Period Imperial Japanese Court Dress Bicorne Hat

The fur covered hat is in immaculate condition, with complete white ostrich feather trim. The white silk interior of the cap bears the monogram of 'M.S.'. A brass plaque on the exterior of the case displays the same monogram. One side of the hat carries heavy, hand embroidered, gold bullion ornamentation of the Imperial Paulownia flower. The hat retains its black silk chin cord. The hat is contained within its lined black japanned case, which also has silk ties to hold the hat in place. The case exterior shows some scratches and signs of age but remains in excellent condition.
