Edo Period Samurai Jingasa War Hat

The circular hat worn by samurai, this example is made of leather with an embossed design of interlocking rings. The hat is in the 'Nirayama' style with a family crest of a five pointed star on each side. A photograph is posted with this listing which shows a samurai wearing this style of hat in the Edo period. The hat shows the expected signs of wear and use, but remains in very good condition.
