Italian Fascist Fasces for a Building or Railway Car

Available
$675.00

Description

A large aluminum Italian fasces (the emblem which gave the fascists their name, 15 inches long and 7 inches wide. The fasces was likely either placed originally on an Italian government building or perhaps on an official railway car, since the style and construction of the insignia is very similar to the Third Reich Reichsbahn railway eagles. The fasces has a small protrusion at the top, this representing the central rod around which the other rods were bundled. There appears to have been a similar small protrusion on the bottom of the fasces which was removed. However, this is not particularly noticeable at all. A very impressive piece which shows the expected signs of age and use.
