Description
Original era photography. A very clear, full length image of an armed soldier, standing with bayonet and rifle. His shako is on the floor, next to the butt of the stock. I do not believe he is armed with a M1866 Chassepot, as I cannot see a bolt handle, nor do I think the bayonet is French. This may be an English import, brought in to supply the French republican armies continuing the struggle after Napoleon III's surrender at Sedan. Aurillac photographers backmark..
