1817 Pattern Rifle Regiment Cap Plate

Measures 2 5/8″ X 3 3/4″, one reverse loop has been replaced, this exact plate is illustrated in 'American Military Insignia 1800-1851' by J. Duncan Campbell and Edgar M. Howell, printed by the Smithsonian Institution in 1963.
