1814 Pattern Rifle Regiment Cap Plate

Exact plate pictured in 'American Military Insignia 1800-1851″ by J. Duncan Campbell and Edgar M. Howell published by the Smithsonian Institution in 1963 as figure 24. Very rare with only a handful known. The plate measures 3 1/4', both reverse loops are missing, the face has been lacquered.
