South Carolina Should Belt Plate 'Union Light Infantry'

Copper plate with fused gold plate on the face, measures 2 1/2″ X 3 1/8″, engraved with the South Carolina state seal above the letters 'ULI'. Face exhibits about 40% original gilt finish, reverse with an undisturbed dark patina. The face shows some scratches and bends.
