Bavarian Artillery 1896/1914 Pickelhaube

An exceptional example of the one year volunteer pickelhaube of the other ranks of the Imperial Bavarian Army. The leather body of the helmet has only minimal signs of age, with light crazing and a few minor pock marks. The helmet has brass fittings throughout, with the fish scale chin strap, the fluted spike, the base, and the rear spine all having an uncleaned patina. The helmet bears national colors and Bavarian officer cockades. The interior shows signs of light wear, with a full silk lining and a complete wide leather sweat band. Superb condition overall.
