Royal Navy Ship HMS Vidette hand made wire work mother of pearl pin badge

A scarce original First World War period 'H.M.S. Vidette sweetheart brooch', rolled gold hand-crafted wire work mounted on polished mother of pearl oval backing, below a pendant heart engraved 'HMS'. Very good condition.Width approx 48mm.HMS Vidette was an Admiralty V-class destroyer. Built at the end of the First World War, she served in the final months of that conflict, and saw extensive service in the inter war years and in World War II. She was an effective convoy escort and credited with the destruction of five U-boats during the Battle of the Atlantic.
