German Blucher Model 1811 Cavalry Saber

Available
$575.00

Description

The saber has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 39 inches, with a blade length of approximately 32 inches. The blade has typical spots and gray areas, and the blade edge shows a few nicks that are barely noticeable. A distinctive feature of this Napoleonic Era sword is that the blade has a configuration known as a 'hatchet point', with the tip of the blade becoming wider for the last 10 inches or so. The wood grip plates are dark from age but they are without chips or cracks, no leather wrapping. The guard, back strap, and scabbard all have a dark finish and patina. Overall the sword is in very good – excellent condition.
