Imperial German Kinder Sabel Child's Kriegsmarine Sword by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie, AG

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 26-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 31-1/4 inches. The blade has a number of spots of plating loss, and the ricasso bears the knight's helmet logo of the Weyersberg firm. The blade has the relatively blunt tip found on the swords that were manufactured just for children. The celluloid grip is wrapped with two strands of twisted brass wire. The grip has toned to a golden brown color and has a few chips, but no substantial loss. The lion head pommel shows good detail. The leather scabbard shows expected signs of age but it remains pliable and intact. The brass scabbard fittings show some tarnish and verdigris. Overall a scarce sword in very good condition.
