WWII Complete Japanese Navy Fur Winter Cap

A very fine example of the World War II winter weather fur cap of a member of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The cap is constructed of black wool trimmed with fur. The body of the cap is padded and carries the gilt Navy anchor insignia on the front. The interior shows some signs of wear. The large Navy issue label is intact on the interior. The full fabric chin strap is present. This example of the cap is complete with a separate fur and wool face shield that could be worn when the side fur face flaps were worn down, thereby exposing buttons onto which the face shield attached. Excellent lightly used condition.
