WWII Japanese Army Imperial Guard Officer Cap

Very high quality olive green Army officer's field cap which on the front bears the toned gold bullion insignia of an officer of the Army Imperial Guard. The cap carries a leather chin strap secured by gilt officer chrysanthemum buttons. The cap is fully lined in silk. There is faint kanji written on the interior leather sweatband, presumably the name of the officer who owned the cap. The cap shows light use and is in overall very good condition.
